The Punjab Assembly will elect the speaker at 4pm on Friday. PTI’s Sibtain Khan and Saiful Malook, a joint candidate of the PPP and the PML-N, will vie for the slot. The speaker will be elected through the secret voting.
Meanwhile, Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday held telephonic contacts with Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz Sharif. During the call, the name of Member of Provincial Assembly Saif ul Malook Khokhar was finalized as the candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for Speaker of Punjab Assembly.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave the final approval of Saif ul Malook Khokhar.
He said all coalition parties members including the Pakistan People’s Party will vote for PML-N’s candidate for the Speaker. Nawaz Sharif directed the PDM to be more active in the election of Speaker Punjab Assembly.
