Bakra Eid: An auspicious festival

Eid-ul-Adha (or Bakri Eid as it is called), is an important festival of the Muslims. They (Muslims) celebrate this festival for three days in which prayers are offered in the mosque, new clothes are worn by the people and greetings are exchanged. It is celebrated on the last day of Hajj, which is a pilgrimage to holy Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

This festival of sacrifice is celebrated because Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) agreed to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience. The devil enticed Ibrahim to save his son and not obey God’s command. Ibrahim didn’t pay any heed to the devil’s evil thoughts and was about to sacrifice his son. As Ibrahim was going to kill his son to prove his devotion towards Almighty, an angel appeared and presented a lamb to be killed instead of his son.

Therefore on this day, Muslims perform an act called ‘Qurbani’, in which they sacrifice an animal which can be a goat, sheep, cow or a camel. The meat of the sacrificed animal is then shared among friends, family and the destitute. This religious holiday serves as a reminder that Judaism, Christianity and Islam share a common religious forefather in the figure of prophet Ibrahim (Abraham).

Global warming

Climate change produces an increase in the average temperature of the Earth, which is referred to as global warming. The biggest contributors to the increase in average temperatures are thought to be natural events and human factors. Global warming is a rise in the earth’s surface and atmospheric temperature that has influenced the earth’s many life forms.

Global warming challenges are split into two categories: “natural” and “human effects.” The most beloved human habits that have existed from the beginning of time are the principal causes of global warming. Carbon dioxide emissions have increased in the environment, which is one of the key drivers of global warming. With the rising usage of electricity as one of the principal sources of energy in most sectors of the economy, greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide have been continuously released into the environment. Electricity is primarily generated by the combustion of coal in power plants, and because it is quite difficult to live without it, the chances of such gases entering the atmosphere are considerable.

Carbon dioxide is one of the gases that traps heat energy in the atmosphere, causing rising temperatures. Another factor contributing to global warming is the rising emissions of greenhouse gases from gasoline combustion. Because most transportation and manufacturing industries rely on fossil fuels as their primary source of fuel, the modern car culture is one of the primary contributors of green house gases.

Some agricultural practices, such as rice growing in paddies, contribute to global warming. Despite the fact that agriculture is the backbone of most global economies, some agricultural methods are key sources of hazardous greenhouse gases such as methane, which is produced by bacteria breaking down in locations where oxygen is scarce. In conclusion, given the lethal nature of global warming’s impacts and the fact that global warming is predominantly the result of human activities, collective responsibility is required to save Mother Nature. Failure to do so could result in a slew of disastrous disasters that would imperil the well-being of current and future generations.

Dreaming public

After the end of Imran Khan’s government, it was hoped that the new government would be able to bring a lot of new and exciting opportunities to our life by reducing inflation but it was just a hope. Inflation, instead of coming down, is touching the sky. The whole of Pakistan is now in the grip of a catastrophic situation. It is suffering from an economic crisis and the public is undergoing the toxic catastrophe of inflation.

Now, it is the only question of everyone that will inflation lessen or not? If the government cannot reduce inflation, it is okay but at least it should not make the situation more difficult. However, there is a ray of hope has emerged after the announcement of our Premier promising that his coalition government will try her every nerve and verve to bring the inflation down substantially. We, the Pakistanis, pray for the complete success of the coalition government headed by PM Shehbaz Sharif.

Skills development

The youth must invest in learning a skill. This should be based on their interest but should remain separated from the education they acquire at school and college. The textbooks provide information without enhancing a skill. Acquiring a skill, on the other hand, is a necessity in today’s era where competitive advantage has become crucial to achieve.

Skills have become the tools that the youth and the adult can use to establish their freelance businesses. The United Nations has named July 15 as World Youth Skills Day to celebrate the importance of acquiring skills. Skills development requires patience and time. One must be willing to research various skills and how to use them. One must know how to use social media platforms to market their skills and to connect with clients. The essential skills for teens and the youth may include financial management, cooking, wardrobe sense, healthcare, social skills, organization, communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, adaptability, etc. Other skills are required based on which the individual can offer services such as communication, technology, finances, critical thinking, etc.

The youth should view skills development as a continuous learning process. They need to identify a skill based on their interest and should read and research to understand how it will help them. They can offer a physical service as a workshop or training or provide an online service such as content writing, data management, website development, etc. The youth must be aware of the various social media platforms they can use to market their offering, connect with potential customers, build their clientele and earn a revenue. Their focus should also be on scalability and how their skills can enhance their service offerings.
