Pakistan Medical Association Sindh took notice of surging number of Covid 19 cases in the province of Sindh, in a zoom cabinet meeting held on June 22, 2022.PMA Sindh believes the percentage of the positive cases as reported in media is around 10 percent but it may be manifold higher than the reported as most of the people are reluctant to get tested.

This is an alarming situation and needed to be dealt accordingly. People will have to come out of the sense of complacency and realise that Covid is still there not defeated completely.

PMA Sindh demands from the government of Sindh that Covid alert may be released in media, people should be asked to follow minimum Covid SOPs  like social distancing, hand washing, avoid gatherings and most importantly get vaccinated (routine and booster). It is also advised that all government hospitals reactivate Covid wards and isolation centres even in smaller places to handle new Covid cases. All branches of PMA and medical practitioners must educate to create aware among the people and their patients against the looming threat.
