The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized an anti-India protest demo in front of National Press Club, Islamabad, today, to pay tributes to the martyrs of Chotta Bazaar, Srinagar, on their martyrdom anniversary. The protest was led by Convener Mohammad Farooq Rehmani.
Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force troops went berserk after an alleged clash with unknown attackers at Zainakadal in the city. The troops opened indiscriminate fire with their automatic weapons all the way from their camp at Syed Mansoor to Chotta Bazaar in the densely populated downtown area of Srinagar. At least 32 people were killed while 22 others were injured in the carnage.
Addressing on the protesters, the speakers strongly denounced the genocide of Kashmiris, destruction of property and harassment of people, including women and children by Indian troops after barging into residential houses. They deplored that the troops have made the life of the people of IIOJK miserable.
They also denounced the defamatory comments about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by the BJP leaders. They said that no Muslim of the world could tolerate the insulting of their beloved Prophet (PBUH). They also called upon the Pakistan government to strongly condemn the Indian authorities against disrespect to the holy Prophet (PBUH).
The participants chanted slogans against India’s oppressive state policy targeting Muslims for a long time and urged the Muslims across the world to unite against any oppression. The speakers also called for a boycott of Indian products until the country abandons its anti-Muslim stance.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, in a statement in Muzaffarabad paid homage to the martyrs of Chotta Bazaar of Srinagar in IIOJK on their martyrdom anniversary.
He lamented that Indian government and its forces’ personnel had carried out hundreds of such carnages on unarmed civilians in which thousands of civilians had been killed. “The extrajudicial killing of youth in fake encounters is part of the Indian government’s organized conspiracy to turn the Kashmiri people into a minority through genocide,” he added.—KMS
