Announces to set-up Chief Minister’s price control cell

Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shahbaz directed the officers to take immediate steps for providing maximum relief to the people and decided to conduct surprise visits to the districts.

While directing the chief secretary to hold field visits, the CM announced setting up the chief minister’s price control cell at his office. He chaired a meeting at the Model Town about the price control mechanism in which secretary industries briefed about prices of the essential items.

MPAs namely Sardar Owais Leghari, Ch. Muhammad Iqbal, Bilal Yasin, Kh. Imran Nazir, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Zeshan Rafique, ticket holder Hafiz Muhammad Nauman, chief secretary, IG police and others attended the meeting. The CM directed to take immediate steps for providing maximum relief to the people and decided to conduct surprise visits to the districts. While directing the chief secretary to hold field visits, the Chief Minister announced setting up the chief minister’s price control cell at his office. District price control committees have been reactivated and focal persons should actively perform to ensure the availability of essential items at fixed rates, he said.

The action plan would be implemented and hoarding would not be tolerated. He asked the administration to keep a vigilant eye on hoarders.

I am committed to providing relief to the masses and every possible step would be taken in this regard, he further said.

On the other hand, on instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shahbaz, a meeting was conducted in Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education to review the situation of dengue. Member provincial assembly Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan, Special Secretary Saleha Saeed, Commissioner Lahore Capt (R) Muhammad Usman Younas, Deputy Commissioner, Special Secretary Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti, DG Health Services Dr. Haroon Jahangir, and Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and CEOs of Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan and other divisions were also present in the meeting.

All commissioners and Dis-trict Health Authorities presented detailed report on anti-dengue activities. Member provincial assembly Khawaja Salman Rafique said, “We must increase our efforts to control dengue in the province.

We are making sure to provide best facilities to patients of dengue.

People as well as all stake holders must also play their role in controlling dengue. Reporting system also needs to be improved to tackle the dis-ease.

Every case reported in the dashboard should be responded as quickly as possible.

All commissioners and District Health Authorities should collectively strive to end dengue. All anti-dengue activities should evaluated through third-party. During the meeting, the availability of medicines for cancer patients was also reviewed.

Secretary Ali Jan Khan said,” We have increased efforts to eliminate dengue.

All CEOs are directed to supervise anti-dengue activities in person and I’m personally monitoring all anti-dengue activities as well.

Meanwhile CM expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and extended sympathies to the people and the UAE government.

Pakistan has been deprived of a sincere friend with the demise of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his services for humanity would always be remembered, the CM added.
