Three sisters, who had allegedly been ‘kidnapped’ from Qaim Bharwana locality of Shorkot tehsil (Jhang district) some three months ago, were recov-ered from Gujranwala.
Addressing a press conference Jhang investigation SP Usman Munir Saifi said on Jan 17 Khizar Ha-yat’s three daughters — Fauzia (19), Muqaddas (17) and Fatima (9) — had gone missing from their home and their brother Junaid Imran had got a kidnap case registered against unidentified men with Waryamwala police.
He added that after geo-fencing and inspecting call data of 1,350 mobile phone numbers, police finally recovered them from Gujranwala’s Wapda Town area.
The girls told the investigators that they left their house due to domestic quarrels between parents and [alleged] torture of them. The girls said they [first] stayed at Toba Tek Singh and then at Faisalabad and Data Darbar, Lahore.
District Police Officer Hassan Asad Alvi has announced cash prizes and certificates for the police teams who chased and recovered them.
Meanwhile, at least six people of a family including two kids and a woman died in road mishap as their car collided with a mini-bus near Tibba Sultanpur, around 50-km away from here on Friday.
According to Rescue 1122, a mini-bus was heading to Multan from Burewala. All of a sudden, it collided with a car, coming from opposite side.
Resultantly, six persons in the car died on the spot. Similarly, another five persons in the bus sustained injuries. The injured persons were shifted to Tibba Sultanpur Hospital.
The dead were identified as Sajjad Hussain (33), Sanam Naz (27), Abdul Hameed (60), Sahil Umer (15), Mashal (7) and Mishal (1).
