Bakery sealed over use of substandard material

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority sealed one bakery and imposed fine on three others over use of substandard material.

In compliance with directions of the Deputy Commissioner Lower Capt. (Retd) Aun Haider Gondal, Assistant Director of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority for Lower Dir, Shakeel Ahmad and Food Safety Officer Majid Khan along with their team inspected quality of items being sold by the bakeries in different areas of the district.During inspection, the food authority team recovered huge quantity of substandard material and confectionary items from a godown of a bakery and sealed it.

Meanwhile, heavy fine was imposed on three bakeries found involved in use of substandard material. The food authority said that the crackdowns were aimed at ensuring provision of clean and health confectionary products to people of Lower Dir on Eid ul Fitar.
