Indian troops continued their violent cordon and search operations and house raids in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, subjecting the people to harassment, even in the holy month of Ramazan.
Indian troops and paramilitary personnel carried out military operations and house raids in different areas of Srinagar, Ganderbal, Badgam, Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipore, Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, and other districts of the territory and arrested dozens of people. The residents of many areas told the media that the forces’ personnel barge into their houses during Iftaar and Sehri times, abuse and intimidate the inmates and vandalize the household goods.
India’s notorious National Investigation Agency along with the paramilitary personnel also conducted house raids and searches at different places in the Kashmir Valley and seized mobiles, laptops, computers and other belongings of the people.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Bashir Ahmad Butt and Dr Musaib Ahmad have congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. They hoped that he will effectively raise the Kashmir dispute at all international forums.
Speakers at a function organized by United Peace Alliance, an umbrella body of political, social and religious organizations, in Jammu deplored that victimization of Muslims and other minorities in India at the hands of Hindutva goons had increased since the fascist Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country. The speakers included APHC leader, Mir Shahid Saleem.
On the other hand, an Indian soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon at an army camp in Rangreth area of Srinagar, last night. This incident raised the number of such deaths amongst Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory to 539 since January 2007. A constable of Indian Central Reserve Police was found dead under mysterious circumstances when he was on duty at Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Pulwama.
Indian police arrested two Muslim boys in Bareilly city of the Uttar Pradesh state for listening to Pakistani songs at their shop. The police arrested the youth after a complaint was lodged against them by a local resident.—KMS
