Inspects development work, meets with people during his visit to Taunsa

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has congratulated the Sikh community on the occasion of the baisakhi festival.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the CM noted that baisakhi is a traditional festival of the Sikh community and remarked that participation in each other’s joys fosters societal norms of brotherhood and unity at the grassroots. Pakistan belongs to all of us and, together, we have to make it strong and great; he emphasised and mentioned that a number of holy places of the Sikh community exist in Pakistan.

It is a collective responsibility to protect the fundamental rights of minorities, including the safety of their lives and property and provide them with equal opportunities for development, he added. Believers of all religions, including the Sikh community, have complete freedom to live according to their beliefs.

Usman Buzdar noted that special attention has been paid to the care, renovation and security of Sikh Gurdwaras in Pakistan. All facilities have been provided to the Sikh community for performing religious rites; he added and concluded that the Punjab government has taken concrete steps for the welfare of all minorities including the Sikh community.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited Taunsa and the tribal areas of Barthi and Manka (Fazla) in Dera Ghazi Khan where he inspected development schemes; listened to the public problems and issued directions for the solution of public issues.

Talking on the occasion, Usman Buzdar asked the nation to get ready as new elections are not far and made it clear that no compromise would be made on national self-respect. Imran Khan has received a tremendous public response in his mass-contact campaign as the nation firmly stands with him, he added. Meanwhile, the PTI-led government has done record development work in the province.

I have done public service with sincerity and my conscience is satisfied; he stated and added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has always represented the nation and would continue to do so. No vindicatory act has ever been taken by me, he asserted.

While addressing a gathering of locals at Buzdar House in Taunsa, the CM announced that the provincial cabinet has approved making Taunsa a district.

I had promised to make Taunsa a district that has been fulfilled, he added. My government has the honour of making Taunsa a district and I would continue to serve the people, he said. I have worked with sincerity to reduce the deprivation of the backward areas.

There is no personal enmity with anyone and my conscience is satisfied as we have always shared love and not done anything wrong to date.

The development package would prove the record development work done by my government, he added. By the grace of Allah Almighty, I have fulfilled my job and my relationship with the people has become stronger than ever, he further said.

In Sha Allah, our joint candidate for the post of chief ministership, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would be successful and the development work will be continued after his success, concluded Usman Buzdar.

He also went to the grave of his father to offer fateha along with Kh. Dawood Sulemani MPA.
