Senior Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former federal minister, Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that attack on Constitution is equivalent to attack on the state.
Talking to media persons here on Monday, he said that public representatives were called traitors and cases of treachery against them were attacks on sovereignty of Pakistan.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that when the Parliament becomes hostage in the hands of elements who consider the House a stair for their rule, when institutions were suspended, they could go to any level to save their rule.
The PPP leader further stated that if the Constitution was made humour, the country could never proceed forward. Today, the judiciary needed to decide not only about country but our future as well, he added.—INP
