One killed, 11 injured in scuffle between parties

The 2nd phase of local bodies elections in Abbottabad claimed a precious life while injuries of at least 11 including one female and everything was smooth here except one incident in village council Bagh Dara Chamhad in Tehsil lower Tanawal where in result of scuffle with two parties, one Sardar Shamrez died at the spot while 4 people including a women were injured.

The incident took place at female polling station at Bagh Dara. Local administration took extra ordinary measures to run the election in befitting manner and special control room with deployment of heavy contingent was posted.

In the 2nd incident at village Jandar Bari in Galiyat due to scuffle between two groups 7 were injured who were shifted to local private hospital as per rescue 1122. Turnout was high and almost in more than 60% polling stations specially in female stations, time was extended due to voters present in the polling stations. Commissioner Hazara Mutahir Zeb and DIG Hazara Mirwais Niaz visited the Election CCTV Control Room at DC Office Abbottabad and inspected the security arrangements of the important sensitive polling station through CCTV.

DPO Abbottabad Zahoor Babar Afridi and DC Abbottabad Tariq Salam Marwat briefed Commissioner Hazara and DIG Hazara. On this occasion, DIG Hazara instructed the control room in-charge that if any complaint was received at any polling station, the officers should immediately bring it to the notice of the higher authorities so that timely action could be taken.
