Quetta police arrested over a dozen young doctors and paramedics on Friday who had been staging a sit-in near the Chief Minister House in Red Zone for a solution to their problems. The protesters chanted slogans against the Balochistan chief minister, whereas, the police opened the roads leading to the Red Zone.
The protesters had been shifted to Bijli Road police station. The Young Doctors Association (YDA) announced boycotting emergency services across the province following the arrests made by the police. The YDA spokesperson maintained that the doctors and the paramedics were holding a peaceful sit-in, adding that the Government of Balochistan was not serious in resolving their issues.—INP
