Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership on Wednesday rescheduled and renamed its long march.
As per detailed the Long March which was supposed to be lead by Hamza Shahbaz and Maryam Nawaz on March 24 yesterday has been rescheduled and now the same would happen on March 26 today.
PML (N) has also renamed it as ‘Mehngaee Mukao March’ (eliminate inflation march). The reason behind the delay in the March was meeting of the National Assembly, which is to be happen on March 25, sources privy to the development said on Wednesday.
The plan of Long March has been delayed for two days. PML-N President and Leader of Opposition Shahbaz Sharif chaired an important meeting of the Long March Management Committee.
The long march of PML-N will leave Lahore on March 26. Hamza Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz will lead the long march. The Long March will arrive in Islamabad on March 28. Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting on preparations and arrangements of the party for “Mehngai Makao March”.
Shehbaz asked all the organizations to ensure the best cooperation over the PML-N’s March. The Leader of the Opposition said that the March will meet the aspirations of the people as homes and businesses of the masses have been destroyed.
The meeting was attended by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal, Punjab President Rana Sanaullah. Senior leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique, Sardar Awais Leghari, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Ataullah Tarar, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Malik Abrar, Anjum Aqeel among others also attended the meeting.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has given the name to its long march as Mehangai Mukao March (Eliminate Inflation March) and released its schedule on Wednesday.
The PML-N activists will kick-start their march towards Islamabad from Model Town, Lahore on March 26 at 1pm. On March 28, the PML-N caravan will reach Rawalpindi.
The marchers will stay at 18 different points of the Punjab province.
On March 26, they will spend the night in Gujranwala. On March 27, they will stay in Sara-i-Aalamgir for the night and on March 28, they will reach Rawalpindi, and after spending night there, they would head towards Islamabad on March 28.
Just like male workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), female workers of the party are no less excited ahead of the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM), an opposition parties’ alliance, long march towards Islamabad against inflation as they have applied mehndi on their hands with anti-government slogans inscribed on it.
Similarly, they have also readied special dupattas (shawls), consisting of the party’s flag’s colors, for the occasion. In this connection, a rally was taken out at the Baghbanpura area of Lahore under the auspices of PML-N’s Women Wing in which female bike riders also participated. Likewise, female workers of the party are going door to door to convince the people to participate in the PDM’s long march.
