In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Advocate Devinder Singh Behl has said that India has given its forces a free hand to commit genocide of the Kashmiris in the territory.

Devinder Singh Behl in a statement issued in Jammu said that India was in fact terrified of the Kashmiris’ indigenous freedom movement so it has started a wave of oppression in the territory to suppress the resistance movement.

He said that despite Indian atrocities, morale of the Kashmiris was high and were determined to take the freedom movement to its logical conclusion. He said that Indian forces were committing grave human rights violations in IIOJK and therefore it was the responsibility of the international community to break its silence and take effective notice of the Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris

He appealed to the United Nations to play its role in resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the resolutions passed by it and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people so that permanent peace could be established in South Asia.

Meanwhile, APHC leader Javaid Ahmad Mir in a statement in Srinagar has strongly condemned the use of brute force against the people of Kashmir during so-called cordon and search operations by Indian troops in the territory.

He deplored that the Indian troops were killing innocent people, particularly youth on daily basis and the United Nations and other international human rights organizations should take serious notice of it.

He said that the people of Kashmir had given huge sacrifices for securing their right to self-determination which would not be allowed to go waste.—KMS
