Project to be completed at cost of Rs4.32b

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has stated that completion of the Saggian Road Project will facilitate the movement of more than 110,000 vehicles.

Addressing a groundbreaking ceremony of Saggian Road project in Lahore on Friday, he said that this project will be completed at a cost of 4.32 billion rupees.

He said that the project will reduce the traffic burden with construction of rounda-bout at Phol Mandi Chowk and parking will also be available at Faizpur Interchange M2.

Usman Buzdar said that the journey of progress has been started in the province as the incumbent government has allo-cated an enormous development budget for the province unlike the previous gov-ernment.

He said that the provision of basic necessities of life to people, prompt justice, establishment of good governance carry a prime weightage in the manifesto of the PTI government.

He said that Health cards will be distributed to the whole province till the 31st of next month.

The CM announced the construction of a flyover in Shahdara adding that the Shah-dara flyover project would be started this year. He announced upgrading Government Associate College for Boys Sharqpur as a postgraduate college and announced naming Government Associate College for Boys Sharqpur after Mian Sher Rabbani (RA). He further announced the launch of an elevated expressway project and said that the expressway from Gulberg to Motorway would be constructed at a cost of Rs.60 billion to ease commuters’ daily movement.

The CM regretted that the previous gov-ernment left behind a plethora of incom-plete projects and dishonoured cheques of Rs.56 billion. More development works were being done now than in the previous government, he added and pointed out that the largest development budget has been given by the PTI government. Bil-lions of rupees were being spent on de-velopment projects in 36 districts under the district development package, he noted and regretted that the past govern-ment spent less on Lahore and more on some areas. Today, composite develop-ment was being ensured, he said. Today, justice was being done to every city and region as providing facilities was my mis-sion, he said.

The CM said the journey of development and prosperity has started in every district and he was visiting every district to review the pace of work. It is our responsibility to solve the problems of the people, he maintained.

Wherever you go in Punjab, the development work would be visible, he added. PTI was in power for ensuring jus-tice while good governance was an impor-tant mission, he repeated.

Under the universal healthcare program, the national health card has become func-tional in seven divisions of Punjab and every citizen could get free treatment for up to one million rupees through the na-tional health card. Usman Buzdar declared that the Ravi River Urban Development Project and Central Business District are game-changer projects as the new city will be developed.
