SSGC intensifies anti-gas theft operation, one arrestted

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) intensified its anti-gas theft operations as part of Operation Grift by undertaking raids across Sindh and Balochistan. The team raided a hotel in in Suhrab Goth Karachi a culprit named Mehboob Shah owner of the hotel arrested, who was engaged in direct use of gas with an estimated total load of 275 cubic feet per hour. The culprit was apprehended on site and FIR was lodged against him. Further claims against the miscreants will be lodged accordingly.
Other areas of Karachi were also raided as part of Operation Grift and two cases of meter tampering were identified, where culprits were directly accessing an estimated gas load of 700 cubic feet per hour. Another case of meter tampering by M/S Zaib Textile, New Karachi Industrial Area, has been sent to the Technical Wing for action.
Furthermore, Gas Theft Control Task Force detected underground and overhead thefts via illegal clamps in Lakhi, Shikarpur and Mehar areas where more than 20 households were found guilty of using gas illegally through underground clamps. All illegal clamps were removed on spot. Efforts to eliminate gas theft will intensify further in the coming days.
