In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, illegally detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader, Ameer Hamza Shah has been elected the new Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir.
Ameer Hamza, who was illegally detained in Agra Jail, India, had been carrying out organizational matters as acting chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat since the martyrdom of Mohammad Ashraf Sahrai in May last year.
After deliberation, Ameer Hamza was unani-mously elected as the new Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. The party members have assured him of their full support.
Earlier, Ameer Hamza Shah had served as the district president of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Bandipora and Baramulla, as well as general secretary and acting chairman of the party.—KMS
