PSL and rivalries
With the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), there is excitement countrywide. All are passionately supporting their teams and cheering for their favourite players. Once the match starts, there is no screen in the city which does not have a crowd in front of it. No doubt, PSL brings a lot of entertainment and joyful moments but there are certain things which make this whole scenario gloomy.
We are so much excited and zealous to support our favourite teams that we start hating other teams. Most of the people spread hate speech about other teams on social media which causes disintegration between the people. For example, people from Karachi are mostly supporting Karachi Kings and the match between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars is like Pakistan vs India. Both sides not only support their favourite teams but also mock the opponents’ supporters.
Worst part of this entire unwanted scenario is that hatre is carried by the supporters throughout the year even after the PSL. We, as a nation, must understand that sports are meant for recreation not disintegration and hatred. PSL is played to entertain people and promote unity amongst the people of Pakistan because every team is a representative of Pakistan. So, we should love all of them and support our favourite teams without spreading hate about other teams or cities. I believe that this little effort of mine can change the mindset of people reading this. Let’s spread love and harmony to make this world a better place to live. HAMZA JAVED

Dark side of technology
In every field, our overdependence on technology has backfired since the last few years. Data theft, privacy and businesses that are using these portals have raised concerns on the recent breakdown of social media sites like Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram.
A common person like us, in our daily life, just cannot comprehend the justification of “Faulty Configuration Change”. Recent developments when the founder of Facebook was questioned by the US Senators was unable to give satisfactory answers about this kind of breakdown, privacy and data theft which tends to show how this technology is getting out of hand.
In this new era, it is better for us to understand as quickly as possible that “Information is the new weapon”. Modern battlefield is not here nor there, it’s everywhere and these Tech Giants and their tentacles are embedded deep in our daily life. As a common man, no one has any idea what happened in this technology breakdown? Will it happen again? Was my data stolen? How can a Technology pinnacle like Facebook let this happen? Was it a human error only?
These are certain questions which will help us mould a new model, stay and survive. Yes. This technology loophole demands our attention as soon as possible or we will see drastic effects in near future.

A speeding vehicle
Through your esteemed newspaper, I want to highlight the issue in Pakistan regarding the speeding vehicles which take life of innocent people every now and then. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, there are 9701 accidents that occured in 2019-2020. Many accidents take the life of our brothers that work hard to maintain peace in our society.
The other day, an accident occurred on the National Highway when the policemen were trying to stop the speeding car. But the speeding car ran over the policemen killing one of them and injuring others. In Karachi, there is a place named “Numaish Chowrangi” where a motorist ran over the traffic cop and fled away. There are also many incidents where the policemen were the victim of speeding vehicles. The concerned authorities are requested to take action against the speeding vehicles that take the life of our police brethren who work day and night for our safety.

Who you are
This refers to a great and inspirational letter “world belongs to brave” by Sajjad Cheehani (January, 29). The write-up was an amazing piece of writing which was a bit inspirational and more informative.
There is no denial that the world belongs to those who confront difficulties, those who fail but don’t give up but they get up and start again. Really, they are the real brave ones who face failures, who embrace risks, and who confront people and their harshness.
There are too many people who succeeded with less facilities and equipment. Some succeed at the age of 50 and some die at the age of 20 or under 20s. It simply means success is upon what is in your mind and which kind of mindset do you have: A brave and positive mindset or a negative and excusing mindset.
No matter who you are, what your caste is and which family do you belong to as well as what your gender is. The only thing which matters the most is you and your feedback upon difficulties and people’s harshness. Thus, be a person who loves himself, who cares about about him and his life and never think about others and never does wrong to himself just because of others expectations and demands.
