Calling overseas Pakistanis an asset for the country, Punjab Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Sunday the services rendered by them for strengthening the country’s economy were unforgettable.
He was talking to PML-Q (USA chapter) President Mian Zakir Naseem, General Secretary Chaudhry Tanvir and a senior party leader, Chaudhry Idrees Arif, who called on him at PA building in Lahore.
Issues confronting Pakistani expatriates and other matters of mutual interest came under discussion at the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, PA speaker stressed the need for protecting the rights of the Pakistanis living abroad at all costs; particularly their properties back home in Pakistan.
The visitors also congratulated Elahi on the completion of new provincial assembly building, who then took them round its different portions.
Mian Zakir Naseem said that PML has done an unprecedented job for overseas Pakistanis in its time. Ch Shujat Hussain as the Prime Minister ordered repatriation of dead bodies of Overseas Pakistanis free and fixing Rs 50 thousand for burial solved our very major problem.
Mian Zakir Naseem, Ch Tanveer and Ch Idrees congratulated Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi on completion of new building and house of Punjab Assembly.
The delegation also visited the new building of the Punjab Assembly and the House.
