Disabled boy killed, another injured in fire incident

A physically disable eight years old boy was killed and another sustained critical burn injuries after a fire erupted in a hut located in front of a base camp of Pakistan Navy near Chuhar Jamali town of district Sujawal on Wednesday morning.

According to the information reaching here from the far-off area through credible sources, a straw heap lying inside the hut caught fire and engulfed the whole area in no time. The head of the ill-fated family Muharram Malah told local reporters that his two sons Azhar and Mazhar were inside the house when it caught fire adding that since his elder son Azhar was physically disable he could not protect himself and ultimately fell prey to the treacherous fire.

However, his younger brother tried to save his life but he also ended up with serious burn injuries; He said.

Both the victims were rushed to the rural health center Chuhar Jamali where Azhar succumbed to his injuries however the condition of Nazhar was stated to be critical and doctors were trying to save his life. The fire had reduced everything of the family including necessary belongings to ashes. “ We had contacted the fire fighting unit but the fire tenders could not reach on time causing huge loss to us”; bemoaned Muharram.
