Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has termed the approval of Punjab Workers Welfare Fund Act 2019 from Punjab Assembly as a historic step. He said that implementation on Punjab Workers Welfare Fund Act 2019 will improve the living standard of industrial workers. From now on collection of taxes under the head of Punjab Workers Welfare Fund will be responsibility of the Punjab government. He said that providing relief to the industrial workers will be the responsibility of the provincial government as well.
Punjab Revenue Authority will collect Punjab Workers Welfare Fund at provincial level. He said that genuine rights of industrial workers will be given to them on priority basis. He said that different facilities would be provided to the industrial workers under this act including setting up of residential colonies, free educational facilities for the children of industrial workers and timely provision of marriage grant for their daughters.
He said that government will ensure timely and proper utilization of Punjab Workers Welfare Fund for the betterment and welfare of industrial workers. Speedy solution of the problems of industrial workers will be ensured and setting up of Punjab Workers Welfare Fund is an important milestone towards provincial autonomy, without any doubt, he concluded.
Kisan platforms have been established in 31 vegetable markets of different cities of the province; after setting up of 32 model bazaars. Choef Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Punjab government will do whatever it takes to provide relief to the people.
He said that setting up of kisan platforms in 31 vegetable markets will provide ease to the citizens. He said that farmers are selling their produces directly at kisan platforms.
He said that free of cost spaces have been provided to them for selling their produces directly in the market. He said kisan platforms have been established in four vegetable market of Lahore including Badamadi Bagh, Singhpura, Multan Road and Kahna.
Similarly, facility of kisan platforms have been provided in the vegetable markets of other cities as well including Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, DG Khan, Sargodha, Multan, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Sadiqabad, Mianwali, Toba Tek Singh, Burewala, Muzaffargarh, Sialkot, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Bakhar, Pakpattan, Okara, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Chichawatni and Talagang. The chief minister maintained that people are getting vegetables at reasonable rates due to this initiative of the government. He said that government will ensure to protect rights of people at any cost. Price-hike and artificial increase in the rates of vegetables, fruits and pulses will not be tolerated and action will be taken without any discrimination in this regard, he concluded.
