In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has termed the Kashmir dispute purely a political issue which cannot be resolved through military power.

Strongly condemning the frequent use of repres-sive and oppressive measures to suppress the legiti-mate demand of the people of Kashmir for their inalienable right to self-determination as guaranteed and recognised by the United Nations Security Council, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that negating and destroying peace-ful and democratic institutions of the science of conflict resolutions by India can have devastating consequences on the global level.

Citing the recent upsurge in the extrajudicial killings in fake encounters, widespread arbitrary arrests of the youth and infliction of untold atroci-ties on the innocent people demanding their right to self-determination at the hands of Indian occupation forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesman said that neither the historical facts nor the ground realities support Indian mythology about Kashmir.

“People have rejected, time and again, the In-dian illegal and forcible occupation and have ren-dered exemplary sacrifices for their inalienable right to self-determination,” added the spokesman.

The spokesman urged the United Nations Secre-tary General, European Union, Organisation of Is-lamic Cooperation and other influential member countries of the UN to help the people of Kashmir who are facing the wrath of a big military power, India, and living a miserable life under the shadow of a war.

It is the moral obligation and legal author-ity of the said world bodies, he added, to implement its recognised resolutions on Kashmir and end up the Indian illegal occupation as done in many con-flict zones of the world.—INP
