Waste management
Bhara Kahu, a place of amalgamated culture, situated almost 17 kilometres away from the Capital which is the representative of a country. Bhara Kahu, where the people from all over the country are residing in huge numbers. I was resting in my room. One of my roommate walk off with garbage which contains some food, paper and plastic. He threw it out of the window which is also the dumpster of our hostel.
Did you know how to treat or reuse a garbage? I asked him. Unfortunately, he knows nothing about that. Then, I did a little survey in my hostel regarding the waste management where people belong to different parts of country. Almost all of them know nothing about which type of garbage is thrown in which basket which means the people from different parts of country have not any awareness. It’s an alarming situation.
I am writing this to bring the attention of concerned authorities to organize such events and involve some organizations to generate awareness about the methods to ensure the separation of waste according to its further use. There should be such projects which aim at implementing efficient practices for raising the awareness about waste management.

Crimes of child abuse
I want to draw attention of our society towards one of the major issues that is child abuse . I am writing to express my concern over the increasing crime of child abuse in our country. Abuse of little girls and boys has become a common crime nowadays and this is an alarming threat to our society.
According to NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau) crimes against children have increased about 13% in 2020 and more than 2960 children have been sexually abused in Pakistan. These are the cases which have been reported and we don’t know how many cases haven’t been reported because of different reasons. It’s a tragic fact that over 200,000 children are reportedly abused in Texas, USA. It’s become a major issue all over the world .
Now it’s time to save our children from this crime and also prevent its ever occurring. Print and electronic media can play a major role in child abuse prevention. We all know that law enforcement can’t prevent all crimes at a time.
Nowadays, parents’ slipshod is a cause of child abuse. Parents neglect their duties and don’t pay attention to their children. Possibly the child’s parents don’t realize that their negligence is putting their child’s life at risk. We all have to play a role to control child abuse from our society.
The government and law enforcement agencies should take strict action against this vulgar act. The government should hang those people, who openly indulge in such crimes, publicly. The parents should not leave their children alone. Information should be available to make our country strong and safe.
In such a scenario, parents should be extremely cautious. Crimes against children happen when they are alone. So, children should not be allowed to travel alone. Parents should pick and drop their children from school by themselves. The police should also increase their vigil against such vulgar criminals who are on the prowl. And I appeal to all parents to be extra vigilant.

Are we really Muslims?
The video of another chilling episode has went viral on social media where four women were severely beaten and naked in front of a crowd just for some unclear allegations, where they had no appropriate evidence. To trace the history of Pakistan, it is not the first case happening, number of cases occurred and women were harassed and were raped. The question is, “Are we really Muslims, are we really the follower of the Last Prophet?”
Indeed, we have a criminal justice system, no doubt, we have the best laws to punish someone if a wrong is done. Why to punish someone without listening someone? Is it just? Hence, it is brutality, the culprits involved in this act should be exemplary punishment according to law.

What is a birthday?
A boy of a rural primary school of Bengal stood up innocently and asked the teacher about the meaning of birthday when the latter was referring to birth of Jesus while discussing the festival of Christmas! The teacher got stunned by the question and got more stunned by learning that nobody in class is aware of significance of birthday!
Far from remaining cold to the ignorance of the poor kids about their birthdays(all children of poorest of poor folks), the teachers and headmaster have collaborated to celebrate the birthday of each and every child on a monthly basis according to the “date of birth” as entered in school register. The teachers not only bear all cost in celebrating it complete with previously unseen Birthday cakes, even the impoverished parents of respective children are also invited to join so that they also do not get left in this rare occasion of joy!
The whole matter started with the issue of birthday of Jesus Christ. Now with such an unique all-embracing celebration with beneficiaries being the marginalised deprived children, Also we have got again enlightened of the Christmas lesson that festivals can earn its real meaning and significance only when all members of society irrespective of class are included in it.
Indeed amidst the deluge of sad news from all possible corners; this news coming out from rural Bengal surely emits fresh ray of hope and breeze of optimism that perhaps all things sanity have yet to bid final goodbye from this society!
