Buzdar chairs Cabinet Committee meeting, approves various proposals

The CEO of Procter & Gamble Pakistan Adil Farhat called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and discussed matters of mutual interest.
The CM pointed out that a one-window facility has been introduced to facilitate the investors adding that a zero-NOC policy would be added soon.
While highlighting the government’s proactive approach to encourage trade and investment in the province, the CM announced that an inspectorless regime has been introduced and labour laws were being eased too.
Alongside, special economic zones were being established for investors and an investment facilitation cell has been established, he added.
The investment opportunities would create job opportunities while strengthening the national economy; he maintained and told Adil Farhat that the establishment of 16 cement plants has been approved in three years.
The government has taken a number of steps to create ease of doing business in the province, he continued.
Adil Farhat appreciated that the provincial government arranged facilities for the business community during the corona pandemic and tax relief, to the tune of billions of rupees, has been given.
The company would take benefit from the investment opportunities as a conducive atmosphere was provided to the trade and business community, he added. Secretary Industries and others were present.
Meanwhile, Chaired by Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat, the 77th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law held at the Civil Secretariat approved various proposals.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Secretaries of relevant departments were also present in the meeting.
The proposals approved during the meeting are guidelines for setting up small hydropower projects at 35 locations in Punjab, a 10 percent increase in vehicle inspection fees for the current financial year, in the name of Taha Muhammad for chairman of the Punjab Land Development Authority.
Approval of Punjab Luxury House Tax Rules 2014, the resignation of non-official member of Ravi Urban Development Authority Amjad Waheed and nomination of Zaheer Khokhar, Muhammad Ali, Farrukh Afzal and Wasim Akhtar in the board of Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Company.
The proposal to extend the scope of Lahore Walled City to the whole province and the proposal of MoU for promotion of research activities between Fisheries Department and Veterinary University Lahore were postponed for further consideration.
