Int’l accreditation of TVET Institutes will enhance quality of training, overseas employment

National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) is implementing the component-2 “International Accreditation of selected Pakistani TVET institutes” under NAVTTC’s Prime Minister’s Special Package to Implement “Skills for All” Strategy for TVET Sector Development in Pakistan under Kamyab Jawan Initiative.

NAVTTC under Chairman, Javed Hassan and Executive Director, Sajid Baloch is ensuring that the quality of Pakistani institutes is brought at par with international standard.

Thus aiming to have international accreditation for selected institutes throughout Pakistan, NAVTTC with the help of ILO support is conducting International Accreditation of ten Pakistani TVET institutions through Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC).

In first phase four institutes i.e. Government College of Technology (GCT) Taxila, Government College of Technology (GCT) Peshawar, Government College of Technology (GCT) Faisalabad, Pakistani Swedish Institute of Technology (PSIT) Karachi will be accredited.

To complete the process of international accreditation the following APACC experts arrived in Pakistan.

The experts nominated by APACC Manila include Ramhari Lamichhane, PhD, International Consultant & Immediate past President, APACC, Pn. Noor Aidi Binti Nadzri Director, Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan and Mr. Rae Emmanuel Echaveria, Research, Publications, and Information Division Officer, CPSC.

Mian Waqas Masood, Chairman National Accreditation Council (NAC) received the experts and threw a dinner in their honor.

International accreditation of TEVT institutes will play vital role in creating public trust as well as national and international credibility, especially for overseas employment, in the quality of technical and vocational education of the country.

It will also ensure to bring the best national TVET technical institutes at par with the international standards and job market.
