Three coal miners were shot dead on Sunday in the Zalawan area of Shahrag, after unknown armed men opened fire on them.
According to the Balochistan Levies personnel, the region was cordoned off after the incident and security forces began searching for the culprits.
The Levies further stated that the colliers had not been identified but the forces had been dispatched to transport the bodies of the deceased to a hospital.
Suhail Anwar Hashmi, the top administrator in Harnai district in Balochistan province, said the early morning violence took place in the Sharag area where most of the province’s coal mines are located.
