Vegetable exports increase 24% in 3 months

The exports of vegetables products from the country witnessed an increase 24.87 percent during the first three months of financial year 2021-22 as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Pakistan exported vegetables products worth $ 765.775 million during July-September (2021-22) against the exports of $ 613.227 million during July-September (2020-21), showing growth of 24.87 percent, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The food commodities that contributed in positive growth of vegetable exports included edible fruits and nuts, export of which grew from $90.650 million last year to US $ 108.321 million during the fiscal year under review, showing increase of 19.49 percent.

During the July-September (2021-22), the exports of cereals also increased by 18.93 percent, from US $ 423.707 million to US $ 503.954 million while the export of oil seeds and oleaginous fruits rose by 232.411 percent from US $15.988 million to US $ 53.146 million.—APP
