In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum (JKSPF) Chairman, Advocate Devindar Singh Behl has said that Indian occupation forces have used every method to suppress the people’s movement for the right to self-determination, guaranteed by the United Nations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Devindar Singh Behl in statement issued in Jammu called for taking New Delhi to task for killing half a million people since 1947, molesting and humiliating thousands of women, arresting several thousand youth and killing them extrajudicially in every nook and corner of the territory.
He maintained that despite these brutalities, the valiant people of Kashmir did not compromise on their inalienable right to self-determination because they believe that freedom is more precious than their lives.
Devindar Singh Behl deplored that international community has not taken any serious notice of the highhandedness of the Indian occupation forces against the innocent Kashmiri people.
He urged the United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute for peace and stability in the region and take a stern action against India if it fails to compliance with the World Body’s demand for exercise of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.—INP
