The Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali has paid rich tributes to the Jammu martyrs of 1947.

According to Kashmir Media Service, hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris were killed by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region during the first week of November in 1947 while they were migrating to Pakistan.

Uzair Ahmad Ghazali in a statement issued in Muzaffarabad, said that Muslims were still victims in India under the government of Modi-led Hindutva ideology.

Paying tributes to the martyrdom of millions of unarmed civilians in Jammu, he said that oppressed Muslims of Jammu were displaced from their cities and villages as they were asked to migrate to Pakistan.

He said, hundreds of thousands Muslims, including children and women, gathered in hope of migration to Pakistan, were deceived and brutally killed with swords, axes and bullets. Thousands of Muslim women were abducted by insurgents, Uzair Ahmad Ghazali lamented.

“Muslims were in the overwhelming majority in Jammu before the November 6 massacre and migration, but with the connivance of Indian rulers and terrorist groups, they were turned into a minority”, he deplored.

Uzair Ahmad Ghazali appealed to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to hold rallies to pay homage to the martyrs of November 6, 1947.

He said that a massive rally would be organized in Muzaffarabad to pay homage to the great martyrs of November 6.—INP
