In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of the visit of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah this weekend and in the backdrop of recent civilian killings, the security across the territory has been further heightened, adding to the miseries of the people.
Amit Shah is scheduled to visit IIOJK from October 23-25. During his visit, he will hold important high-level meetings on security situation in the territory. This will be his first visit of to IIOJK after the abrogation of Article 370.
The security has been further tightened, a top police officer told media. “The security apparatus is in place and all security agencies are maintaining high level synergy,” he said.
Heavy deployment of Indian forces’ personnel has been witnessed in Srinagar and at other district headquarters.
In Srinagar, the joint parties of police and paramilitary forces have also erected more checkpoints and installed mobile bullet proof bunkers to carry out frisking of commuters and pedestrians.
At TRC crossing, Lal Chowk, Jehangir Chowk, M A Road, Bemina and Parimpora, Bypass, the joint team of police and CRPF were seen checking the vehicles and identity cards of the travelers.
In the city, the joint parties were seen checking the documents of bikers and many were seized at scores of places. Besides, thorough frisking of vehicles was also carried out at many places. CCTV surveillance has also been increased.—KMS
