Capital Development Authority’s massive campaign against dengue is continuing. During this campaign special constituted teams of Health Services Directorate are in action and carrying out fogging and spraying of anti-mosquitoes all over the Islamabad, particularly in thickly populated, high risks and rural areas of Islamabad .
In line with the directions of CDA Administration, Health Services Directorate is working under a comprehensive plan for preventive measures, elimination of dengue virus growth and its larvae. In this connection, authority is not only conducting spray and fumigation in identified dengue growth areas of the city but also carrying out anti-dengue awareness campaign in the city.
On October 7, 2021, teams of DHS collected 322 samples from different areas of the city out of which 15 samples were found positive.
Chemical larviciding was carried out in 17 areas while fogging and spraying was carried out in 76 areas of the city while 500 broachers were distributed in connection with dengue awareness campaign.
In order to make anti-dengue campaign a success, Islamabad has been divided into different zones and in each zone, designated teams of Health Services Directorate have been deputed
. Moreover, Sanitation Directorate is carrying out special cleanliness operation, in addition to routine cleanliness of the city, especially in the potential breeding areas of the city so that dengue could be eliminated.
