Pays surprise visit and inspects under-construction Gulab Devi Underpass

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday declared that the PTI government is committed to provide modern infrastructure and ways of communication to the masses and different projects being carried out in Lahore develop the infrastructure and address traffic problems.
“The Punjab government has been striving hard for developing the City infrastructure and providing best facilities to the citizens, as befit a metropolis and historic city like Lahore.”
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar paid a surprise visit and inspected pace of work on the under-construction Gulab Devi Underpass on Wednesday.
Director General LDA Ahmad Aziz Tarar gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister about the project. On the arrival of Punjab Chief Minister, services of Lahore Metro Bus remained operational.
Keeping in view, the convenience of passenger, Usman Buzdar stopped his security staff from suspending the Lahore Metro bus operation. The CM waited at the road till the passing of Lahore Metro bus and then cross the road.
Usman Buzdar and passengers greeted each other by waving hands. In order to redress the peoples’ problems, he directed to complete the Gulab Devi underpass project at the earliest.
He pointed out that setting up of 1,000 bed hospital can increase traffic load on Ferozepur Road.
He said that construction of Gulab Devi underpass will provide relief to the people. He further directed to complete all traffic related projects at the earliest.
The CM lauded the efforts of DG LDA and his team. He also inquired the contractor about the project. DG LDA Ahmad Aziz Tarar apprised the CM about Gulab Devi hospital and Lahore bridge projects.
The CM was informed that Gulab Devi underpass and Lahore bridge projects will be completed at a cost of Rs1.75 billion.
One lakh 48 thousand vehicles will use this underpass on daily basis. This will save fuel worth Rs420 million.
Provincial Minister Asad Khokhar, Commissioner and DC Lahore and concerned authorities of Police, Nespak and other concerned departments were also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of the mother of Senior PRO in Chief Minister’s Office Muhammad Rafi Ullah, DG Performance Audit Dr Samiullah Tippu and Muhammad Ali Khalil and extended sympathies to the bereaved family.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the heirs to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity.
Her funeral prayer was offered at Sabzazar which was largely attended by people from different walks of life including Secretary Information Raja Jahangir Anwar, officials of the CMO and DGPR offices as well as the journalist community.
Quran Khawani and Dua will be held at Masjid Gulzar-e-Habib, E-Block, Sabzazar at 3:00 pm today.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar sought a report from RPO Sahiwal about the murder of two sisters in an adjoining village of Chichawatni and directed that provision of justice to heirs be ensured and criminals be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar said a simple way of life, pure food and observance of principles of Sunnah (PBUH) help in safety from cardiac diseases.
In his message, the CM said a healthy way of life is the best solution to avoid cardiac diseases and it is also important to avoid smoking.
He appealed to the citizens to take care of their health and added that people suffering from cardiac diseases should be very careful to avoid dengue and coronavirus.
The government was providing the best facilities to cardiac patients through Sehat Insaf Card and the cardiology institute was being established in DG Khan, he continued.
