The NOP is a bridge for both accessibility and diversity at LUMS as it extends financial support to scholars nationwide for the last 21 years.
DWP Group became a part of this program as a sponsor since 2017. To date 29 scholars have benefitted from DWP scholarships at LUMS.
DWP Group is a leading technology company of Pakistan with core businesses in Home Appliances, HVAC and ICT industries.
An acknowledgement ceremony was held at LUMS on the September 22, 2021 in honour of the DWP Group’s support.
The ceremony included an interactive session between the scholarship recipients and DWP Foundation to discuss their challenges and opportunities at LUMS. Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director gave a presentation on LUMS, the NOP program and DWP Group & LUMS relationship over the years. Dr. Muhammad Awais Bin Altaf, Assistant Professor of Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) spoke on research initiatives in the field of Electrical Engineering.
Mr. Shahid Hussain, Rector spoke about the core principles of merit undertaken at LUMS; starting from the selection of students to hiring & promotion of world-class faculty members.
Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor LUMS spoke about the long-term association of LUMS with DWP Group.
He said LUMS strives to a have cohort of world class faculty and emphasized on the industry link with LUMS, building partnerships with corporate industry of Pakistan like DWP Group.
