A one-day workshop organized by the School of Law of the University of Gujrat (UoG) at its city campus taught the participants and students how the promotion of inter-faith harmony for peaceful co-existence can lead the nation towards its prosperity goal.

The workshop, titled ‘Social Peace and Harmony’, was organized in collaboration with Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS).

Syeda Saba Kamal, the resource person of the workshop, threw ample light on how a society can benefit positively through promotion of peace, inter-faith harmony, toleration and co-existence.

“Our goal of prosperity hinges on our being a peace-loving society or, in a manner of speaking, the effort we put in towards building and strengthening sustainable peace.

We need to promote inter-faith harmony, toleration and co-existence. Pakistanis are a nation with diverse culture, language and religious faiths and sectarian beliefs.

We must find unity in this diversity by promoting toleration and peaceful co-existence if we want to be reckoned with as a prosperous, successful nation,” Syeda Saba Kamal said.

Prof. Dr Nasir Majeed called for burying our sectarian differences, promoting freedom of expression, toleration, inter-faith harmony and equal rights.

The workshop organizer, Nimra Babar, thanked all the participants and students for participating.
