Shehzad Malik hosts reception for media persons

Prominent social and political figure and a well-known Pakistani businessman of Sweden, Chief Editor of ‘OG News,’ Shehzad Malik hosted a reception at his residence in the honour of the Pakistani media persons from the print and the electronic media of Sweden.
A large number of the Pakistani media persons apart from the Pakistani community living in Stockholm and other parts of Sweden attended the reception that turned out to be an interactive dialogue on the current economic, social and political situation of the country and the Pakistan-Sweden relations.
The participants of the reception included Abdullah Malik, Hafiz Imran, Kashif Aziz Bhutta, Sohail Safdar, Khwaja Abu Bakr Butt, Saleem Sarwar, Hussain Nadeem Butt, Tariq Mehmood, Arshad Khan Multani, Sarfaraz, Imran Haider, Shehroz Malik, Ali Malik and others.
They thanked Shehzad Malik for providing an opportunity to the media representatives of Sweden to get together and share their views in a free and frank manner.
They also considered registering of their media organizations in Sweden as well as telecasting local news in the national language so that Sweden’s Pakistani community might come to know about the latest local news.
They were of the unanimous view that the expat Pakistanis should contribute to Sweden’s economy, progress and prosperity but at the same time they should also do something noble and memorable for Pakistan.
The participants said that under the current government of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan was making progress by leaps and bounds and his economic managers had set the economy of the country in the right direction.
Pakistan, they viewed, has emerged as a peaceful, progressive and prosperous country in South Asia.
Afghanistan and COVID-19 are two examples of Pakistan’s successful internal and external policies and the entire world today acknowledges Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance on both the issues, they said.
The Pakistani diaspora also spoke high of the Ambassador of Pakistan in Sweden Dr Zahoor Ahmed and his team and lauded the Pakistani embassy’s efforts to serve the community and resolve their issues.
Referring to Pakistan’s Ambassador to Sweden and Finland Dr Zahoor Ahmed’s recent visit to a Sikh community’s temple “Gurdwara Sangat Sahib” in Stockholm, they termed it a great gesture to build bridges among communities and followers of different religions.
During his visit to the Sikh temple, Dr Zahoor Ahmed had invited the Sikh community to visit their holy places in Pakistan as the Government had opened Kartarpura Corridor, the final resting place of Baba Guru Nanak for the Sikh pilgrims.
Ambassador Zahoor since he took over the charge of the Pakistan mission in Stockholm, has actively been pursuing relations with Sweden in trade, tourism, investment, green energy and IT sectors that has brightened the prospects of enhanced bilateral trade and investment from Sweden in Pakistan.
Ambassador Zahoor’s Swedish counterpart in Pakistan Henrik Persson is also following a roadmap of enhanced relations with the Pakistani government in different sectors including automobile, climate, manufacturing, energy, IT and others and despite COVID-19 has been holding meetings with stakeholders to promote bilateral relations, it was observed during the reception.
