Buzdar directs PDMA, WASA authorities to be alert

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the provincial administration, PDMA and WASA authorities to remain alert on 24/7 keeping in view the recent spell of rains in different cities including the provincial metropolis.

The chief minister further directed the concerned officers to be present in the field and no stone should be left unturned in the drainage of water.

Usman Buzdar said that drainage work should be completed as soon as possible and the concerned officers and staff should continue the work to drain out rainy water from the low-laying areas, like they did yesterday.

He asked WASA and administration to utilize every resource for the early completion of this task.

He made it clear that no leniency will be tolerated in this regard. He further directed that citizens should not face any difficulty and smooth flow of traffic should also be ensured.

WASA, administration and traffic police should be available in the field to supervise the operation. He said that in case of any untoward incident relief activities should be started immediately.
