Positivity rate drops below 4% as 212 tested positive after 6,330 tests in 24 hours

The Mass Vaccination Centre (MVC) in Islamabad’s F-9 Park has proven the citizens’ first choice for getting vaccine doses and by Tuesday, more than 550,000 doses were reportedly administered at this facility since its establishment in May earlier this year.
District Health Officer on Tuesday confirmed more than half million doses of Covid-19 were administered at this facility alone.
Vaccination drive in Islamabad is at full pace and now, we are also administering booster shots (third shot) w.e.f Sep 1, as per the policy of the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC), he said.
Booster dose can be administered after first dose or 2nd dose both, but after passage of 28 days.
“Bring valid documents if you’re traveling abroad and partial or complete vaccination certificate,” he said.
He said for Covid-19 booster doses, name of centers and all other details will be shared in a day or two and administration of doses will be open for travellers going abroad at the selected centers on payment from September Insha Allah.
According to the NCOC figures a total of 6,330 tests for Covid-19 were conducted in past 24 hours after which 212 persons were found infected with virus.
The Covid-19 positivity rate in the city was recorded 3.35 per cent in the city, the NCOC data further reveals.
The total number of cases in the federal capital after 212 infections climbed to 99,263 while three deaths in the meanwhile took the overall toll to 866.
