Gold Rates Crash below Rs4.22 Lac in Pakistan after Rs20,000 dip in October

Per Tola Gold Rate Slips Further To Rs4 37 Lac In Pakistan

LAHORE – Gold buyers in Pakistan witnessed another price adjustment today as bullion lost Rs1,300 per tola, with new price set at Rs4.22Lac.

The latest drop brought the price of 24-karat gold to Rs422,136 per tola, leaving the domestic bullion market significantly below the levels recorded earlier this month. 10 grams of gold became Rs1,115 cheaper, with the updated rate standing at Rs361,913.

The domestic market had shown signs of improvement at the beginning of the week when gold gained Rs1,400 per tola on Monday, October 26, reaching Rs423,436. However, the upward movement failed to continue.

Within 24 hours, the market reversed direction, with Tuesday’s Rs1,300 decline almost entirely cancelling the previous session’s increase. The renewed weakness was also reflected in global bullion trading, where gold shed $13 per ounce to settle at $3,996.

Silver prices followed a similar pattern in Pakistan. The white metal recorded a reduction of Rs85 per tola, bringing its latest price to Rs5,793.

Gold Becomes Rs20000 Cheaper Than October Peak

A closer examination of October’s price movements reveals how sharply the domestic gold market has changed in just over two weeks. The precious metal began the month at Rs438,636 per tola on October 1 and moved through several fluctuations before reaching Rs442,036 on October 10.

That level marked the highest rate in the supplied October price record. The market subsequently entered a downward phase, with the most noticeable losses emerging during the third and fourth weeks of the month.

By October 20, gold had fallen to Rs435,436 per tola. The decline continued over the following sessions, taking the rate to Rs431,536 on October 22. An even sharper reduction followed on October 23, when gold dropped to Rs424,536 per tola. The metal slipped further to Rs422,036 on October 24 before staging a temporary recovery on October 26.

With Tuesday’s latest adjustment, gold is now Rs19,900 cheaper per tola compared with October 10, representing a decline of approximately 4.5%. Similarly, buyers purchasing one tola at Tuesday’s rate would pay Rs16,500 less than the price recorded on October 1, excluding jewellery-making charges and other applicable costs.
