In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and other Hurriyat organsations have expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in jails of India and the territory.
The APHC spokesman and several other parties, including Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement leader, Dr Musaib and Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir Mohammad Ahsan Untoo in thier separae statements issued in Srinagar expressed concern over the detainees’ plight.
The detainees languishing in jails included Mu-hammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Ma-sarat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Syed Shakeel Yousuf, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Zahoor Watali, Eng Rashid, Muhammad Yousuf Mir, Mu-hammad Yusuf Falahi, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Mu-hammad Rafiq Ganai, Ameer Hamza, Farooq Ah-med Tawheedi, Hayat Ahmed Butt, Dr Qasim Fakhtoo, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Muhammad Shafi (Khan)Shariati, Showkat Hakeem, Merajuddin Nanda, Waheed Ahmad Gojri, Mehmood Toope-wali, Feroz Aadil Zargar, Dawood Zargar and jour-nalist, Aasif Sultan.
They also expressed concern over the shifting of dozens of detainees from Srinagar central jail and Kupwara sub jail to the jails outside the valley.
The APHC and parties urged the international community to take serious notice of the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists and play role in their immediate release.—KMS
