Advisor to CM on Tourism approves several steps CCTV cameras to be installed in 40 parks

On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, a meeting of all nine PHAs of the Punjab province was held under the chairmanship of Advisor to CM on Tourism and PHA Asif Mehmood. The chairmen and DGs of PHAs from across Punjab attended the meeting.

During the meeting it was decided to install cameras in 40 major parks of Punjab within a month. Out of order cameras will also be repaired in 30 days and private security companies will be hired for security of the people in overcrowded parks.

The participants also informed that instructions have also been issued for the setting up of a Central Control Room for monitoring of cameras installed in the parks.

It was also decided that all community parks under PHA will be allocated for families and suitable training will be arranged for PHA guards.

Motorcycles will be provided to security guards for patrolling in the parks. Police and administration will be informed in advance on the occasion of important festivals. All measures will be approved by the CM and Board of Directors of PHA.

Meanwhile, Advisor to CM on Tourism Asif Mehmood chaired a meeting regarding Prime Minister’s directives on progress of Tourism Department.

Secretary Tourism Capt (R) Mushtaq Ahmad, Additional Secretary Ms Kalsoom Saqib, MD TDCP Tanveer Jabbar, Director Archaeology Maqsood Ahmad, DC DTS Hafiz Gazenfer and other officials attended the meeting. During the meeting, the advisor was briefed on the ongoing projects and their completion dates.

He was also briefed on the completion of geo-mapping of 1000+ sites throughout the province. The MD TDCP briefed about the outsourcing of rest houses which will be completed within one month.

The advisor directed for bidding conference to be held for outsourcing of resorts. The advisor also directed for the adventure tourism to be launched in North and South Punjab.

The officials briefed the participants on update of NCCT portal, Online Booking System which is provided at the website and application of the department.
During the meeting, it was also discussed that Punjab will finalise its integrated tourism plans in one month.
