As many as 803 corona patients have recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of patients recovered from coronavirus to 319,068, so far in the fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
All these patients have made health recovery in public sector hospitals being run under the control of Punjab Specialized and Primary & Secondary Healthcare departments across Punjab province.
Punjab Specialized Healthcare Secretary Amir Jan said this while chairing a high-level meeting here on Wednesday. Additional secretaries – Dr Asif Tufail and Amir Ghazi were also present in the meeting.
The secretary said that in view of Corona pandemic, the department has made sufficient arrangements.
Out of 6,518 beds reserved in all govt hospitals for corona patients, 4,659 beds are lying unoccupied. Likewise, 1,397 beds reserved in govt hospitals of Lahore and 989 beds are vacant so far.
The Secretary SHC&MED said that the department had arranged 3,020 beds in Isolation wards of all govt hospitals in the province, out of which, 2,354 beds are vacant.
However, 370 beds for corona patients are reserved in isolation wards set up in govt hospitals of Lahore and 298 beds are unoccupied.
In addition, 2790 beds are also reserved in HDU for patients suffering from Covid-19 in all the hospitals of government and 1873 beds are vacant while, in hospitals of Lahore, 798 beds reserved in HDU and 564 beds are unoccupied, Amir Jan added.
The Secretary SHC said the health department had arranged 708 ventilators for corona patients in all hospitals of the provincial government, of which 266 ventilators were under use while 442 were unoccupied.
Around 229 ventilators are reserved in Lahore hospitals, of which 102 are occupied and 127 ventilators are vacant, said Secretary Specialized Healthcare.
