Kashmir settlement must for peace in south Asia: Behl

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, has urged India to work for a lasting solution to the long-running Kashmir dispute to ensure peace and secu-rity in South Asia.

Advocate Devinder Singh Behl while talking to media in Rajouri area of Jammu said that ceasefire along the Line of Control between Pakistan and India is a welcome step but urged the two countries to take immediate action for its resolution.

He said that dialogue process should be started to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN reso-lutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The APHC leader asked for including the Hur-riyat leadership in these talks. He said that India has always made the dialogue process a source of time gaining while Pakistan sincerely wants a solution to the Kashmir issue

. The Hurriyat leader said that Pakistan has always supported the legitimate free-dom movement of Kashmiris.

Replying to a question, he said that India be-lieved that it could prolong its illegitimate domina-tion by dividing Jammu and Kashmir into parts to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom movement. —KMS
