The Punjab Finance Department released Rs4 billion to the Metro Bus Authority (MBT. The grant is issued for the first three months of the financial year.
According to details, the Punjab Finance Department released Rs4 billion to the Lahore Metro Bus Authority.
The department released the grant for Metro Bus Service and Orange Train and will be used for subsidy on Metro Bus and Orange Train, payment of salaries to employees and other administrative matters.
On the other hand, the Punjab Chief Minister has approved the release of a fund of Rs30o million for the construction and repair to Metro bus station and track.
The fund will also be utilised for painting metrobus fences, construction of the station, repair to escalators and roofing of the station.
The Punjab Mass Transit Authority had approached the Chief Minister’s Office with a request for the funds, upon which the chief minister approved the funds.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Railway Police has made changes in the welfare policy. According to the changes, dowry grant for families of martyrs, in service, retired and late employees of Railway Police has been increased from Rs20,000 to Rs 40,000 and pensioner support has been increased from Rs2,000 to Rs4,000 per month.
Inspector General of Pakistan Railway Police Arif Nawaz Khan has approved the amendments to the welfare policy.
He said that revolutionary measures have been introduced for welfare of the families of martyrs, in service, retired and deceased employees of Railway Police.
