Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided to reshuffle the provincial cabinet based on the performance of the ministers.
According to sources, the cabinet shakeup will take place after a final go-ahead by the PPP Chairman who has been interviewing the provincial ministers and special assistants and reviewing performance of their ministries during the last three years of the PPP government.
Bilawal Bhutto has also conveyed to his father and co-chairman of the party former President Asif Ali Zardari about his decision to include new faces in the Sindh cabinet and Zardari, according to sources, has endorsed his decision.
Names of the two Members of the Provincial Assembly hailing from Thatta, Karachi, one MPA from Hyderabad and two MPAs from Malir and Karachi (West) are also under consideration to be inducted in the Sindh Cabinet, the sources further said.
A day earlier, Provincial Ministers Nasir Hussain Shah, Imtiaz Sheikh, Awais Shah, Special Assistant Waqar Mehdi and Barrister Murtaza Wahab called on Bilawal and briefed him about their ministries’ past three-year performance.
Nasir Shah briefed him about the performance of the Ministries of the Local Government, Forest and Religious Affairs. Imtiaz Sheikh briefed the chairman about the Energy Ministry while Awais Shah gave an update on the Transport Ministry.
Murtaza Wahab also briefed the chairman about the political situation of Karachi and about his plans to uplift the city in case he is made Administrator of the city.
