The Punjab government has retrieved precious state land measuring 210 kanal in a major operation against land grabbers here in the metropolis.
The provincial government has retrieved state land from illegal occupation worth more than Rs 450 billion across the province.
In a tweet, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that another 210 kanals of land worth Rs260 million was recovered in an operation against a notorious land mafia group in Lahore on Monday.
He said that in the past, state lands were illegally occupied under the government and political patronage.
“We have retrieved so far over 155,000 acres of state land worth over Rs450 billion from land grabbers,” he claimed.
He reiterated his government’s stance to continue operation against land mafia until last inch of state land is recovered from them.
It is to be recalled here that both the federal as well as the Punjab governments have adopted zero-tolerance policy against land grabbers and the prime minister has issued special directives to the Punjab government to come down hard on the land mafia.
