As per the weather report on Monday, rainy spell is expected to hit the country during Eid days and will continue till Thursday. The low-lying areas in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Nowshera are feared to be submerged during rains. While the heavy sleet might cause landslides in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meteorological office also issued a warning of a dust storm which might cause damage in the upper parts of the county. It also cautioned the local population residing near the river banks as the inflow of water in the rivers might be increased. It also issued a travel warning asking passengers and tourists to take care as transport and communication means will be affected during the heavy rainy spell ahead.
