Matrimonial row claims three lives

Three persons including a man and his son were killed when armed men from the opponent group stormed their house. The police the incident took place over a matrimonial issued on Monday.

Police said that armed men sprayed bullets at rival with whom they were in dispute wedding proposal in Derianwala area of Narowal.

As a result of firing Yousaf Khan, his son Showaiz Khan and son-in-law were killed on the spot and attackers fled the scene.

The police shifted the dead bodies to hospital for postmortem and registered a case against the culprits. The police have launched further investigation.

Meanwhile, the protective bund of Nullah Dek in Shakargarh broke down, leaving standing crops over a vast area inundated.

Reportedly, Nullah Dek in Shakargarh attained a high-level flood owing to which its protective bund gave in immersing the nearby populated areas. The water also deluged the standing crops grown on hundreds of acres of land.

According to the irrigation department, at present 30,000 cusecs water was flowing in the Nullah.

It said that the Nullah Dek had attained its highest level of water inflow which caused the dismantling of the protective bund.
