Mango festival draws crowd

The three-day National Mango Festival organized by MNS Agricultural University, Bahauddin Zakaria University, Mango Research Institute Multan and DHA Multan continued on the second day.

People from various walks of life, including former world squash champion Jan Sher Khan turned up at the festival and expressed keen interest in more than 200 varieties of mangoes put on display for the masses.

Exporters, mango growers and industry representatives also set up stalls in which high quality products were introduced.

A training session on mango was also held at the Mango Festival in which progressive farms and agricultural scientists participated in mango cultivation, packing and Innovative farming methods with recommendations on the site.

MNS Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ali thanked the guests and said that Multani Mango are popular not only in Pakistan but all over the world.

He also thanked Mango Growers, Industry and Mango Research Institute Multan on the occasion.

Chairman PARB Dr. Abid Mahmood, Retired IG Railway Police Syed Ibn Hussain, Major Tariq, Miss Rabia Sultan, Khawaja Shoaib, Zahid Hussain Gardezi, Noorul Haq Jhandeer, Mumtaz Khan Manis and other agricultural scientists, high officials and a large number of citizens attended.
