Minor girl killed in aerial firing Row over water distribution claims three lives

Three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries in a gun battle during a dispute over water distribution.

According to police, the incident occurred in Kot Haibat area of DG Khan where both the groups indulged in crossfire. The police informed that motive behind the gruesome incident is the distribution of water.

The deceased persons were identified as two brothers and their cousin, according to the police. On information, the police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the entire area.

The dead bodies and injured persons were shifted to hospital. Doctors at the hospital termed condition of one of the injured persons as critical.
The local police sprung into action after the Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) took notice of the incident and sought a report from the RPO DG Khan.

The IGP directed the authorities to expedite arrests and investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, a minor girl died during jubilation firing at a wedding here in the provincial capital on Friday.

Police arrested two culprits involved in firing and recovered arms and bullets from their possession.

According to details, relatives of the groom opened heavy jubilant aerial firing in Nishtar Colony here.

A four-year-old girl Ayat Jan was critically injured in the firing and succumbed to her wounds while being shifted to hospital. The police arrested two culprits Shakeel and Fahad involved in aerial firing, recovered a rifle, pistol and several bullets from their possession.
A case was registered against the detainees and they were being investigation.
