In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have martyred 1425 Kashmiris, in-cluding 33 women and 114 young boys, after the martyrdom of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaf-far Wani on July 08, 2016 till date in the territory.
According to a report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, out of 1425 martyred, 124 were killed in fake encounters and in custody during the period.
The report said at least 29656 people were criti-cally injured due to use of brute force including firing of bullets, pellets, PAVA and teargas shells on peaceful demonstrators and mourners by Indian military, paramilitary and police personnel in the occupied territory.
It said that thousands of Hurriyat leaders, activ-ists, politicians and civil society members, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Mu-hammad Yasin Malik, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Dr Hameed Fayaz, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shahidul Islam, Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi, Rafiq Ahmad Gania, Muhammad Yousuf Mir, Amir Hamza, Muhammad Yosuf Fah-lai, Muhammad Hayat Butt, Kashmiri businessman, Zahoor Watali, Syed Shahid Shah, Syed Shakeel Yousuf Shah, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Eng Rashid and journalist, Asif Sultan have been facing illegal detentions in different of jails India and the occupied territory.
Burhan Muzaffar Wani is the symbol of Kashmiris’ resistance to India’s illegal occupation and is a leg-end for the struggling Kashmiris as he lives in their hearts and minds.
A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said that Burhan Wani along with two associ-ates was martyred by Indian troops in a fake en-counter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on this day in 2016.
It said, Burhan Wani’s martyrdom infused new life to the Kashmiris’ freedom movement as after his extrajudicial killing thousands of Burhans have emerged.
It said, fascist India can snatch Burhans physically, but it can’t kill the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people, adding that Burhans will keep on coming till Kashmir attains freedom from Indian yoke.
The report said, Kashmiris are observing July 8 (Burhan Wani’s martyrdom anniversary) as ‘Resis-tance Day’ to reiterate the pledge to continue their martyrs’ mission till complete success.
India can’t subdue the Kashmiris’ passion for freedom by re-sorting to merciless killings in IIOJK and the people of Kashmir will keep on treading the Burhan’s path till freedom from India, it maintained.
The report said, Kashmiris are observing Mar-tyrs’ Week to pay homage to those who offered their lives in the way of freedom.—KMS
